REW does not find Umik-1 on Ubuntu 18.04

Hi all!

I am about to set up a REW workstation based on an old Dell laptop computer, running Ubuntu 18.04. The problem is that REW does not find my Umik-1 microphone.

Symptoms:

1. The ”Measure” icon is grayed out.
2. I can record using the microphone using Audacity.
3. I can use REW with the microphone on another Ubuntu 18.04 machine just fine.

The machine that works fine: REW V5.18 running JRE 1.8.0_131 64-bit on linux 4.15.0-43-generic
The machine that does not: REW V5.19 running JRE 1.8.0_191 32-bit on linux 4.15.0-43-generic

Any help to debug the problem will be appreciated!

Does it find any audio interfaces? Sounds like it could be an audio configuration issue. I'm afraid I don't have any expertise in Linux audio configuration so can't suggest where to look, sorry.
