(April 5, 2021) Three of the industry's heavy hitters have announced Roon Ready status for select models. The Roon ecosystem allows users to search for and access digital music content using intelligently designed software. Roon Ready equipment can be discovered and connected to Roon without any configuration needed.
AudioControl says its X-Series of AVRs and pre-pros now carry Roon Ready's stamp of approval. Those models include the 16-channel Maestro X9 and X7, along with the Concert XR-8 and XR-6, and the 12-channel Concert XR-4.
JBL Synthesis has two models, the 16-channel SPD-55 processor and SPD-35 Class G receiver, achieving Roon Ready and Roon Tested status. Roon Tested certification means a product works over USB, HDMI, AirPlay, Google Cast, and other protocols. JBL requests that owners confirm their equipment is running Software v1.46 for the best possible Roon experience.
Lastly, five ARCAM models have received Roon Ready and Roon Tested status. They include the AVR10, AVR20, and AVR30 receivers, the AV40 pre-pro, and the SA30 Class G intelligent amp. ARCAM says that AVR10, AVR20, AVR30, and AV40 owners should be running Software v1.46, while SA30 owners should make sure their intelligent amp is using Software V867.
