(April 23, 2020) Samsung and Apple have joined forces again, giving select Samsung TV owners access to over 60 million songs, thousands of playlists, original shows, concerts, and more, through Apple Music.

Beginning today, Samsung’s Smart TV App Store becomes the first of its kind to offer Apple Music. Owners of Samsung Smart TV models made during 2018- 2020 can download the app and gain access to entertainment through one of two ways: Current subscribers can sign in with their Apple ID, while non-subscribers can experience a free 3-month trial with an individual, family, or student subscription.

“Our goal has always been to deliver the best entertainment experiences to consumers – and as people spend more time at home, we are more committed to that mission than ever,” said Salek Brodsky, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Business Development for Samsung Electronics. “Last year, we were the first TV manufacturer to offer the Apple TV app, and today, we are the first to offer Apple Music. Our partnership with Apple has been instrumental in bringing consumers an unparalleled lineup of different entertainment options, especially as they seek out more content choices from their Smart TVs.”

In addition to ad-free music, Apple Music has customized daily recommendations and “At Home with Apple Music,” which offers editorial playlists, artist interviews, and group FaceTime chats with artists at home. The app also carries the global live stream “Beats 1” radio station that features shows hosted by well know artists like Nicki Minaj, DJ Khaled, and Elton John.

Initially launched in 2015, Apple Music currently enjoys the support of tens of millions of subscribers in 167 countries around the world.
