Not sure why we had to go to 8K already when 4K has barely been utilized properly. :ponder:

yeah, Crazy.. Soon, 16K will come out and 4K still will not be there fully.. lol.

Pfft... At 85 inches 4096 pixels are looking a bit big... ;^)

I have read the upscaling chip is A.I. which learns and is phenomenal making that alone worth the buy if one has the room and extra cash.

I haven't told my wife as of yet but I hope to see one in the near future. This is a TV I'm considering as an upgrade for my Z9D.

Per Samsung, this beauty will cost and arm and a leg --> $14,999.99

Maybe black friday sales??

I don't recall any flagship sets going on sale especially a set that will have a limited production.

The Samsung rep I talked to (at CEDIA) told me a slightly different story... he said the upscaling AI is roughly equivalent to what we saw with early 4K TV releases. The 8K set they had on display was only showing 8K video (which looked AMAZING)... and I asked what 4K would look like - he definitely balked somewhat.

So notions of buying this set and watching cable TV are out the window, IMO

Thanks for the heads up regarding the AI. I read that it was unbelievable and would actually "learn" as it went along.

Disappointing. I was hoping the Q900 would make me want to move away from the Z9D.
