(August 23, 2020) Scenic Labs has launched a new series of bias lighting products with professional-grade LED chips, allowing enthusiasts to integrate highly-accurate lighting into their favorite media room.
“The capabilities of professional and consumer displays are constantly improving, and users spend considerable time getting their settings just right.” Explains Jason Rosenfeld, president of Scenic Labs. "Professionals have long known that low-quality lights with poor color rendering effectively ‘uncalibrate’ a display in the viewer’s eyes. The MediaLight Mk2 Series brings unparalleled accuracy to even the most color-critical environments.”
The key to MediaLight Mk2 lighting solutions is pinpoint D65 reproduction with fast warm-up and accuracy when dimmed. And because each solution shares the same SMD chips, they can be deployed together for consistent lighting across the board. Available products include a desk lamp, a dimmable A19 bulb, and a range of lighting strips for use behind televisions and computer monitors.
“ISF strongly recommends watching movies with the same lighting that directors used to create them,” says Joel Silver, founder and president of the Imaging Science Foundation. “We've been recommending the MediaLight to post-production professionals for quite some time; it's the best tool we have found for studio lighting. Now, we’re working with CEDIA to bring this quality of lighting into residential installations. The environmental color impacts our perception of color on the screen; MediaLight provides a neutral ambient light that's ideal for both content creation and content reproduction.”
MediaLight Mk2 products are now available from authorized dealers worldwide; please visit www.biaslighting.com for more information.
