Seymour-Screen Excellence’s Enlightor-Neo Takes 4K AT Material to the Next Level
(Seymour-Screen Excellence)(August 11, 2017) Long-time industry leader Seymour-Screen Excellence has announced the arrival of a new Acoustically Transparent (AT) 4K/HDR rated film material, offering a performance upgrade over the company’s popular Enlightor-4K AT screen. Dubbed “Enlightor-Neo,” Seymour plans to unveil the screen at CEDIA 2017 (with a challenge for show attendees).
Enlightor-Neo offers better AT quality with a surface comprised of a revolutionary-woven pattern that improves both audio and video performance. According to the company’s Managing Director, Chris Seymour, the new screen offers 0.5dB more acoustic transparency over its previous flagship product with a whiter looking color. The screen’s surface has a more matte finish (1.0 gain) and has more “stretch,” which means it can be pulled more tightly than competing products. Seymour says the screen’s properties make it ideal for difficult custom installs (such as motorized retractable applications).
“While the pattern is not randomized like Enlightor-4K, its ‘structure’ is shrunk down so small that it passes the challenges I make at tradeshows where I invite people to come up and literally put their nose smack up against the material and tell me if they can see any structure,” says Seymour.
Enlightor-Neo is one of four Enlightor Series of AT screen surfaces, with a unique classification of being rated for home and studio use (with no minimal seating distance). The others include:
