I have a .45 cal solution for that...

Yeah... those don't look like the good kind there. I've seen and killed a few bad ones around our pond.

I use my Judge Public Defender with .410 bird shot.

Of course, they are all bad to me. Even a rat snake has the potential to give me a heart attack.

Those snakes are non venomous and non harmful. No need to go out and harm these. They are more scared of you then you of them.

I use a Kimber m1911 carry style with those same .45 cal rimless aka .410 "extra short" bird shot... Only on venomous snakes and threatening to strike one of us humans or dogs...

When I ran english pointers in the western US, I would snake break the dogs so there would be no Mexican standoffs between a dog on point and a coiled rattler...

Lol... Cats... One of mine brings little copperheads up on the porch for me... However, they don't run in front of a horse all day and find and point quail for the BBQ... It is always better that the dogs run on by a snake and never give it a second thought...

We had some torrential down pours move through yesterday. That's why I decided to house clean instead of going out for my regular walk. I didn't think we had that much rain fall but I am clearly wrong.

The pic below really illustrates the amount of rain that fell. Submerged under that red line are a path of rocks that connect both sides. The rock path is about 24" high at its tallest point. Totally submerged.

Some pics from the trailer.. This is the first time I've had signets at my trailer. Although fewer in number than the goslings that hung about, their output in the butt-hole department is far larger. Definitely have to rake it into the lake after they visited.

We used to have several Canadian geese here at home, until the eventually got gotten by the fox and the owl. We finally gave up trying to raise them. They were really too much to take care of to be going it just for the fun of doing it.

My last nature shots from my previous stay at the trailer. My prostate gland got me up every 2 hours that night. I saw the moon shining through the window so I snuck outside as not to wake my g/f and I took a couple of shots at 2am

I was at the trailer for a full week from this past Wednesday to the previous Wednesday. I took my g/f up to Ottawa with me on the Saturday to look after the cats before heading back down to the trailer. We dodged a tornado alert in the campground

And if that wasn't enough excitement....

The owner of this boat is obese and has a heart condition. He got in his boat, started it up, reversed out of the dock and headed into the bay. About 100 yards out, he shuts off his motor, raises it up to get rid of the accumulated weed around his prop. He lowers it back in the water and tried to start it several times. Every attempt was met with the same result, a warning and no start. He pulled out his paddle and managed to turn the boat back towards the dock before giving up as it was too difficult for him I watched all of this play out from the back of my trailer. I put on my life vest, and got my older kayak (the more stable one) out on the water and paddled to him. I asked if he had some rope which he thankfully had. I connected it to the eye hook that you can see in the pic. he tied the other end to one of the tie downs on his deck. He through me the line and I put it around my waist and towed him back to his dock. My arms were tired but I got him to the dock. I was met by the campground owner and tossed him the line and he pulled him to his dock.

I had to close my trailer cottage for the season this past weekend. Sunday morning greeted me with this..

I started the packing/closing process around 9:00am and didnt leave until 4pm. On my way home, I drove through a thunderstorm. Lightening was very intense but there was barely any thunder, wind, or rain. What I found unusual were the cloud formations thatt I've never seen before in my life. It made the local news last night. Take a look for yourself..
