This is not your typical video device but I thought it would be interesting to discuss it. I just bought one to make high speed recordings of my shooting to analyze my form and equipment setup. This is an interesting camera because, while primarily a very high resolution still camera (20.1 MP), it also records video in HD and 4K. I got it because it can record at 960 frames per second, but the 4K opportunity has me intrigued as well.

So I will use this thread to take you along on my journey learning about 4K and high speed video. This will also be the camera that I will use to create pictures of equipment, shows, reviews, and maybe even do some video blogging with it in 4K.

Just taking it out of the box and snapping a few pictures and making some video at the default 1080p resolution I can see that is an amazing camera. This is just an example of a point and shoot picture with everything on auto. I took a picture of me as well but it showed every age mark, wrinkle, and was rather nauseating in its detail, so I'll share the impatiens instead.

The more I shoot with it the more amazed I am at how good it is in automatic mode. When I learn it better I am sure I will be able to do some things with manual adjustments that it won't in auto, but so far it has been awesome. And the video is amazing as well. It will record in 4K, though only for about 5 minutes. In HD much longer.

Ive always thought Sony made some of the best cameras, even their video cameras are really good quality.
