Sony launches the new 2017 mid year introduction of the UHD/HDR X720E and X690E series

Sony will launch the two new UHD/HDR series TV series, the X720E and X690E.

In the 60" UHD/HDR class the new KD-60X690E at $1,099 and the 70" KD-70X690E for $1,799 will be available at Value Electronics and other select retailers by the end of July.

Sony will also launch the new X720E in 43" at $599, 49" for $699 and 55" $799 all launching by the end of June.

That seems to be a very good price for a Sony display. What are the differences between these models and Sony's more expensive offerings?

No Triluminos, no X1 processor, and no Android. We ordered them and I'll report on my opinions when they arrive.

Those are really great prices. I could live without Android crammed into my tv. It can be kinda buggy.

I wonder how these would compare to the Vizio M-Series. The pricing on the 70" model is very similar to the street pricing of the M70. I'd much rather have the dependability of the Sony name, although I don't know too many folks who have been unhappy with their Vizio sets. It's just that Sony had been around for a lot longer and have a stellar reputation for quality sets.
