I have two of these that are going in my room I’m building. It’s a sealed up room 15’w 22’L or there about. I’m placing them in the front of the room but not sure which way to face them. The enclosure designer said facing down with 3” of space between the sub and floor. Seeing what you guys think.

I would build to give you options of which footprint is best. Or... do you have a sub you can measure in that position to see which direction gives you the best response... it should be similar from sub to sub for the most part. Mark Seaton was at my house one weekend, and we were looking into an issue. He turned the sub facing the corner, and the issue was gone.

I currently don’t have anything in the room. But you did give me a good idea. I wonder if I could borrow the sound bar and sub from upstairs to kind of get an idea. I know the sub port configuration is a little different on this enclosure, but I don’t want to put feet on the box with the sub facing down and then not be happy with the response and end up with holes on my baffle if I take them off. These enclosures are very large and heavy, so not the easiest to be moving around.

I'm not sure the sub from a sound bar system will give you a response as low as your DIY sub, but it should work for whatever the frequency range is.

I have umik-1 I need to test out anyways so maybe be able to get a general idea though and test out REW
