(Dynaudio) The new Cinema Master 60 Loudspeaker
(September 6, 2017) Here’s some late breaking CEDIA news: high-end speaker manufacturer Dynaudio has revealed an all-new home theater system called “Cinema Master.” The company is calling it a “professional-grade luxury home cinema system” that offers extreme levels of performance and impeccable audio quality for both music and movies.

“We’re offering the first-ever demonstration of the Cinema Master system at CEDIA, and the in-room experience really is incredible,” said Andrew Werdean, CEO, North and South America for Dynaudio. “Working with select partners, we’ve created a high-end $150,000 home cinema system that takes full advantage of our renowned high-end driver technologies and our new custom install products. We believe that the resulting sound experience sets a new standard for home cinema.”

The Cinema Master system features the new Cinema Master 60 loudspeaker, which is specified to deliver a low-hitting 22Hz – 21kHz frequency response. Using the company’s Esotar tweeter and a selection of handmade drivers, Dynaudio says the Cinema Master 60 maintains superior accuracy and razor-sharp dynamics at SPL levels that exceed 135dB.

Dynaudio has quite a demo planned for attendees of CEDIA 2017. The company is setting up shop just outside of the CEDIA convention center at a nearby public location (Carlsbad Room of the Marriott Marquis Hotel). There, it’s mating the new Cinema Master 60 with its own Studio Series in-ceiling and in-wall custom installation loudspeakers to create a luxurious home theater demo room. Datasat’s RS20i high-end audio processor and RA2400 and RA7300 amplifiers will supply the audio.

AV NIRVANA will be present to hear one of the demonstration sessions, so come back for details!

Inside the San Diego convention center, Dynaudio is displaying two new subwoofer models: the Sub 3 ($1,799) and Sub 6 ($2,799). The Sub 3 features a 24 cm (approximately 9.4”) driver mated to a 300 Watt amplifier. It’s a direct replacement of Dynaudio’s older Sub 250. One unique feature: owners can daisy-chain more than one Sub 3, allowing the first subwoofer to control the volume on other connected units.

The Sub 6 is a larger design, featuring DSP-controlled dual 24 cm drivers powered by a 500 Watt Hype Ncore amplifier module. The backside of the sub houses an LCD screen, giving owners access to adjustments to perfectly blend the Sub 6 with a system’s primary speakers. Those adjustments include a time-delay setting, a three-filter parametric equalizer, and a subset of built-in crossover filter presets. The presets are designed to offer factory-determined custom blending settings for use with specific Dynaudio speaker models (Contour, Confidence, Evidence, Special Forty, and Special Twenty-Five).

Dynaudio says the Sub 3 and Sub 6 will begin shipping during the 4th quarter of 2017.

Whoa, 135 dB! That is quite the claim for that tweeter to deliver on. Looking forward to the report, Todd.

We're authorized Dynaudio dealers and this is on my CEDIA short list to see and hear. If all goes as it likely I expect it will, I'll be bring in this line in and setting up a demo in our showroom.

Wow, Robert... that would be quite a catch to snag a system like that in your showroom!

Well, hate to be the bearer of mediocre news, but the demo was (in my opinion) slightly underwhelming. SQ, to my ears, came across as stagnant and flat. And the bass was far from impressive. To be honest, it reminded a lot of audio quality you'd find at a theater circa 2000.

This could have A LOT to do with the demo room environment (which was impossible to see because it was shrouded by blackout curtains)...

The speaker build quality is insanely nice. But, as far as demos go, this particular home theater rig didn't get my heart racing.
