This Isn’t Just a Speaker, It’s a Statement: Meet Oneiros

(October 18, 2024) The long-awaited Oneiros Project is finally coming to fruition. Set to debut at a press event in New York City on December 5, 2024, Oneiros represents a daring new chapter in high-end audio, offering a bold fusion of aesthetic beauty and cutting-edge acoustic performance. This new speaker brand, brought to life under the visionary leadership of Jerry Bloomfield, CEO of Falcon Acoustics and Oneiros Audio, marks an exciting evolution in speaker design, offering a visually striking design and uncompromising sonic performance.

“It’s a thrill to see my dream project come to life,” said Jerry Bloomfield, reflecting on years of conceptual development. “Oneiros is the synthesis of aesthetics and technology, and the results of an innovative process that allows us to use composite technologies to produce immersive sonics from a sculptured organic shape.”

The Oneiros brand emerges from a meticulously detailed design process, utilizing generative design techniques, a powerful tool often reserved for industrial design and architecture. Using natural language prompts, Bloomfield and his team generated multiple visual concepts, ultimately choosing an organic form that not only stands out aesthetically but also optimizes the acoustic properties needed for exceptional sound quality. After more than 100 hours of CAD work and in-depth engineering analysis, the final design began to take shape.

The first Oneiros speaker is a three-way floorstanding model featuring twin 10-inch bass drivers constructed from Twaron Graphene nano-composite cones. The 3" midrange drivers, built from Dyneema Graphene composite domes, complement the bass with precision and clarity, while a 1" CVD diamond dome tweeter rounds out the high frequencies with stunning detail and transparency. At 5’6” tall and weighing 265 pounds per cabinet, the Oneiros commands attention in any space, both in size and, purportedly, performance.

Technically, Oneiros’s crossover network reads like a dream. The custom-designed crossovers use 3.2mm gold-plated PCB boards and top-tier Mundorf components, including the Mundorf MCap SUPREME EVO Silver/Gold/Oil capacitors. These are held in place by custom mounting cradles designed by Oneiros for added stability, with WBT Platinum Binding Posts ensuring the purest connection to your audio system.

One of the most fascinating aspects of Oneiros's development is its use of advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA), commonly used in Formula 1 car design. “We are uniquely fortunate to be based in the center of Motorsport Valley,” noted Bloomfield, highlighting the collaboration with engineers specializing in materials and fabrication technologies from the world of high-performance motorsports. Using FEA, the cabinet design underwent rigorous testing for structural integrity and resonance control, ensuring that its unique, organic form could support high-performance drivers while maintaining minimal cabinet vibration.

From Concept to Reality

The production of each Oneiros speaker is nothing short of an engineering feat. The cabinet is constructed using a monocoque carbon-fiber pre-preg sandwich system, a method derived from the construction techniques used in Formula 1 cars. The process starts with breaking down the CAD model into precision-machined polyurethane molds using five-axis CNC cutters. These molds then form the basis for creating the cabinet’s composite parts, which are assembled and bonded by Tier 1 composite fabricators, typically responsible for manufacturing F1 car components.

Final assembly and finishing are equally intricate. The cabinets undergo finishing by companies that typically work for prestigious automotive brands like Rolls Royce, Bentley, and Bugatti, ensuring that each speaker is not only a sonic marvel but also a visually luxurious product. The front baffle and matching foot plate are machined from solid aluminum billets—each starting as a 1,220-pound block and meticulously machined down to 48 pounds for the baffle and 46 pounds for the foot plate.

“It’s beyond gratifying to see the Oneiros Project nearing completion,” added Bloomfield, reflecting on both the personal and professional journey that has led to the creation of this brand.

Availability and Launch

The Oneiros Project will debut at an invitation-only event at The Power Station in New York City on December 5, 2024. Market availability is expected in early Q1 2025, with pricing to land at the high end of extreme luxury audio items. AV NIRVANA will have more information in the coming month.

Haha… that picture pretty much sums it up.

Anyone want to guess what a pair of these costs? I have a general idea, so I can’t participate - hopefully we’ll have a green light to talk about pricing publicly soon.

In the mean time… let’s see who can get closest!

Haphazard guess at $100,000.

$180,000.00 with promo code (smile)

Let's just say: if you both were flying B-52 bombers with plans to drop your payload on a target thousands of miles away... you'd still be grounded, fueling up for the mission.
OK. $90,000.00 No Promo Code Needed

Mine's empty too... so far!

I keep checking the mailbox. Nothing yet. How about you guys?
Todd probably got a phone call invite. :sneaky:

I don't think they have my number or my address.

Probably with instructions as to which hanger to meet the private jet at.;)
Oh... he probably let them use his personal hanger. :nerd:
