OK folks I need your advice.

We've been planning our 2018 TV Shootout since early January when I attended CES. Up till a few days ago I was planning to put the TV Shootout on in early June. But now that Samsung has announced the new flagship Q9S series and it's been rumored that Sony will have the successor to the very popular Z9D, possible named the Z9F, we'll considering delaying the evaluation event till end of October.

So here's my three choices:
  • Schedule the event for early June as I originally planned
  • Reschedule the event for end of October to include the two new flagship TVs
  • Go ahead with early June TV Shootout and do a second TV Shootout at the end of October
Please vote, comment and ask questions. Also bring fellow enthusiasts here so we get a big sampling of video enthusiasts. The higher the volume of voters and comments we get will help us make the best decision.

Hmmm.

Honestly, I think you should only do one event. If I were you, I’d probably opt June, largely because you’ll have a chance to influence and inform buying decisions for current buyers earlier in the year.

If you wait until October, two months will elapse and you’ll practically be at CES, which restarts the whole model cycle and new announcements.

I would do it once a year, however, I would opt for October... The added bonus of doing it in October is that lot of folks shop for TVs for Christmas gifts and internet searching will find your shootout when they do research on new TVs. But, either way, it should be good. :)

I vote for doing both. But then I'll be in NY the first week of June, so I'm a little biased! I guess it boils down to the market...do your sales justify the expense of putting on these events? It people want to wait for the new models, just invite them back for fall shootout! Best of both worlds.

Option 1 or 2. I don't think you should do 2 events, just do it once and that's that. Is it going to be in Scarsdale?

We're ^ hopefully be making the final plans next week. I'll get back with the location and date(s).

Is it safe to say it will be in October Robert? Haven't heard anything since I talked to John about a month and a half ago. He was thinking June then.

Still no firm date, we'll considering end of July.

Personally, I am excited when every you decide to have it. I'll be watching :jump:

@Jim and Kevin, Thanks, and I'll do a shoutout you both!

Kevin sorry I missed you on your NY visit. look forward to your next NYC vacation!
