Newbie to RAW, but as a longtime audiofile I thought I should measure my room to find the best sweet spot. I use a Steinberg U22mkII soundcard and a Mac and a Behringer measure microphone. I have done the soundcard calibration and the microphone adjustments file import but when I try to do a measurement, whatever level I use (measured on my equivalent to the Radioshack SPL meter) I get a warning about levels I simply don't can figure out how to solve. (See 2nd attached screen dump).

Obviously I am doing something wrong or have missed something vital, but what...? Any clever suggestions would be highly appreciated!

As you can see I get a measurement curve, but why it stops at around 10k is another mystery. The upper limit is set to 20kHz and my B&W diamond tweeters should be well beyond that without problems.

But with an external soundcard, as in my case the Steinberg U22, shouldn't both input and output be the soundcard?

Sure, but have you selected the channel (left/right) in REW the mic is connected to?

Yes, I guess so. I can hear noise when touching the mic in the loudspeakers. I don't use full gain since that causes the "sound shortcut" (don't know the English term for it...)

You must not hear the mic through the speakers, that means you have monitoring active and your measurements will not be valid. Turn the mix knob all the way to DAW.

You have told REW the measurement input is the Right channel (2), is that where you connected the mic? If it is on input 1/Left change the channel selection in REW.
