Just right click on the measurement on the left side and adjust level from there, or from the All SPL tab you can right click and align SPL to being multiple measurements to the same level.

Builds updated today (beta 62) with these changes:
  • Added: Double-clicking a measurement on the All SPL or overlay graph selectors makes it the current selection
  • Changed: RTA accepts Flac and MP3 files as well as WAV and AIFF
  • Fixed: STI could generate an exception in locales that do not use dot as decimal delimiter
  • Fixed: Editing the full scale input voltage, full scale output voltage or ref resistance for a measurement on the Info dialog did not take into account the number format for the locale
  • Fixed: Multi-input vector averages generated at time of capture without saving inputs to individual measurements did not have distortion data

Hi John,

I would be great to be able to move the position of the pop-up window that comes up when right clicking a measurement either in the All SPL or overlay SPL tabs. I find that it sometimes gets in way when trying see to how measurements align in the lower frequencies while adjusting their levels. Thanks.

Hi John,

thanks for fixing this.
Did you also change something related to window positions at multiple screens?
I initially thought this was also fixed because my first "make a measurement" window appeared at my external monitor where also REW main window resides and I was happy. Unfortunately consecutive "make a measurement" windows do appear again at NB screen...

John, Could you fix the text of FSAF notes to just say "None" when no filter is selected.

Java does not support moving popups, I can only control where they appear. I'll make them appear over the list instead of to the right of the list.

Builds updated today (beta 63) with these changes:
  • Changed: Measurement list popups appear to the left of the list instead of the right to avoid obscuring the graph
  • Changed: FSAF file measurement residuals are saved in the mdat file, if that option is selected on the Measure dialog
  • Changed: When making FSAF measurements with timing markers the silence period after the initial timing marker has been increased by 500 ms
  • Changed: FSAF uses the sub-band processing algorithms from the V3.1 MatLab upload
  • Changed: The tooltip for the FSAF residual playback gain control shows the peak level of the residual
  • Changed: FSAF WAV files for unsaved measurements are deleted when the measurements are removed or REW shuts down
  • Fixed: FSAF measurement notes included an entry for the LP filter if an HP filter was applied
  • Fixed: Component equivalent circuit was drawn in black when using dark mode

Excellent changes, thanks so much John!

Is there any method to re-save existing FSAF measurements with the residual file embedded?

An update or so ago, "Remove Time Delay" was added to the alignment tool. Does this make the phase traces look as if there was no delay? What I mean is, when clicked, does it show the phase traces as if my left and right sub had perfectly synced impulse responses?

I unchecked it and copied the phase traces of when it was checked. Is this a pseudo way of seeing what 2 subs looks like when perfectly impulse aligned? Just trying to figure out if this is a good way to check if the timing is correct, or start times are the same.

As you can see, at around 15hz the phase traces are directly ontop of each other. I just thought that was interesting when checking this option.

It removes any time delay in the first measurement and removes the same delay from the second. That keeps their relative timing the same but minimises phase shift from time delay common to both measurements, so it is easier to see the relative behaviour of their phase traces.

Does this apply to all measurements? From REW and From File?
Does it allow to capture more detail, and better psychoacoustic prediction?

Hi John,

Just a thought regarding the "Remove time delay" feature of the alignment tool. There are other scenarios like when measurements are taken in the car or for measurements that have been FIR processed, where relying on an IR start for removing the delay can be unreliable. I think it would be nice to have options similar to those available in Impulse tab, like set t=0 at cursor for an example. I suppose this will entail having an option to display the IR responses, like how is it is done currently when aligning using impulse responses, albeit clickable.

Builds updated today (beta 64) with these changes:
  • Added: API /measurements endpoints to get the measured or predicted group delay
  • Added: Distortion graph controls show a button to embed FSAF residual WAV files into measurements for FSAF file measurements with a residual WAV
  • Added: The STI panel has buttons to increase or decrease signal or noise levels in 1 dB increments
  • Added: The STI panel has buttons to load signal and noise Leq values from saved one octave RTA measurements
  • Changed: STI noise and signal levels can be edited by single-click on a cell, tab and shift+tab move between cells
  • Changed: STI results table shows m values, previously it showed TI values
  • Fixed: Removing smoothing did not revert to unsmoothed if the Analysis option to allow log spacing was selected

Thank-you John. You must have employed some useful compression method as well, the resulting MDAT file is less than half the size of the original WAV files.

The residual is difficult to compress as it has a strong random component. To get around that it is normalised, with the scale factor stored internally. The normalised data is stored with 16-bit precision and then compressed, though the compression only gains another 10 - 20% or so, typically. The main gain is from 16-bit storage of the normalised residual data. The data is de-normalised when saved to WAV or sent for playback.

Hello,

would it be possible to add sending measurement sweeps at the same time through L+LFE like already possible with L+R via HDMI?
Like an option to measure a channel with same signal also via LFE out maybe?
I like to check some issue with bass management.

John, thanks again for your hard work. Question: now with macOS Sequoia HDMI full passthrough (Atmos!) possibilities, do you have any plans to work on REW's ability to measure more than the bed layer?
