The Official SVS Subwoofer Owners Thread!

Just installed 4 of the SB16's in my room... still working on placement and tuning... pics to come.

The worst thing about these are flattening the boxes and packing up all the packing material and finding a place to store it. There are two of us in about a 3500sqft home with attic storage.... two storage buildings, a cabin ... and we have no place to store anything. Someone is going to have a field day when both pass, cause my wife doesn't seem to want to get rid of anything.

Here we go... 4x SB16-Ultras. I placed the front units in the front corners.. then the other two on each end of the back row of recliners after removing one of the four recliners and center the other three. I was about to start with what each one looked like and decided that I'd go ahead and give all four combined a quick measure.. and low and behold was I shocked. There were a couple of peaks at 56Hz and 114Hz..a and a minor peak at 46Hz... nothing crazy, but otherwise smooth. I started activating a few of the PEQ filters to see which of the subs would reduce the peaks... went thru each one... if it didn't fix the peak on that sub, I'd try the next. So after deciphering what filters needed to go with each sub and setting up the filters, here is what I have before I run Dirac Live. Flat down to 15Hz... no boosting at all... just cuts... incredible.

FOUR of these monsters? :help: :hsd: :hide:

Oh man! 15Hz @ 85db and a flat line! I am jealous :hsd:

Oh it was 15Hz on up above 100db... the first time I ran it I had the volume up too loud.

wheeeeeee, thats' a smooth curve. Something I sadly havent' been able to get JUST right even with years of tweaking

Here's a little video I made during a recent delivery. ;-)

I love my SVS subs!

I wonder if the SB16 will be refreshed sometime soon

I'd imagine we're looking at some sort of refresh in the next year or so. Maybe we'll see a jump to dual drivers?

Unforunately I don't have any SVS subs, would love 1 or 2:rolleyes:

Todd, are there any hurdles you have to jump over integrating your SVS subs with the GIANT one (I can't think of the name of it) that you have in your theater?

About two weeks ago one of the amps on one of my (4) subs died. Sent an email off too SVS and had a replacement amp on the way in 24 hrs. Received it within a week from initial contact. As always stellar customer service.
Installed it and did a quick test, fired up The Greatest Showman.
Back to ultimate bliss of four functioning SVS subs. :woohoo:

I'd love to get an SVS sub, but where I live they're a lot more expensive than over there:confused:

I just ordered two SVS 3000 Micro subs to go in my main listening room for my vinyl system.

They will support the bottom end with a pair of the Wharfedale Super Linton speakers.

I heard one at one of the shows a while back... it sounded incredible for the size. I finally found a reason to own a pair.
