The Official SVS Subwoofer Owners Thread!

lol, I have a PB-10 ISD that's still going strong in my bedroom (original amp) that's been going 13+ years and hasn't died yet. One of the pair did die earlier in 2018, so I'm still on the hunt for an upgrade (2 PB-10s for the bedroom was great, 1 is a bit underpowered)

Ya, one would be a bit light. I'm still planning to DIY a sub (talked about in another post) that will certainly bring me up a notch

ohhhh, that's a VERY dangerous road to go down. You go from a nice compact little sub to bringing in coffins into the house with 18 inch drivers and pro grade amps. Don't ask me how I know this (my front room has two Marty subs in them that have 18 SI D2 drivers in them ...32 cubic feet ported down to 16 hz, powered by a Peavey 1800 watt amp, 900 per channel)

Lucky me I have a nice Crest Audio CC2800 and I have a second channel on my Yamaha ydp 2006 parametric eq thats not being used all I need to do is buy the two 15" drivers for the cabinets I have and do a modification to the ports and I'm ready to go

nice, the CC2800 is a great amp. Just a hair more power than my Peavey IPR 3000 is putting out. A little nicer too...That should power anything you need unless you're going big and sealed

Project is on hold until later this year due to more important things my wife needs done.

Lol, well lets put it this way the theater room could become my perminant bedroom if I did :paddle:

A single PB13u still going strong after 12 years of use! Hard to beat that kind of solid performance given its filling a 3700 cu ft space
Nice nice setup beautiful room! What speakers are those in the front if I may ask?

There could worse fates in life;)

Those speakers are EV Sentry 500 studio monitors.
They are amazing speakers and I don't know anybody who has them in a setup like this. They not only sound great at normal listening levels but can get really loud still maintaining quality. I've had them well past 110db and they are still not clipping or distorting. Aperently they were popular in small movie theatres in the late 80s more than use in studios.

Wow I thought they were something special you could tell just by looking at them the way you've set them up across your front sound stage simply genius. A chance to hear that setup would be simply amazing

Whoooooooooo diggity will you look at that! I'm liking it! :T
I know a lot of people hate the metal grills but I like them plus they saved me one time when my dog got mad at me and tried to pee on my PB 2000's I used to own all he hit was the grill!

Have you ever noticed any ringing from the metal grills? During loud passages I can't tell sometimes if it's my PB2000's grills that are slightly rattling or something else. Thanks!

To be honest I always take em off before I really crank or I bet I would hear some noise from them those bad boys are powerful subs!

I’ve got one that rattles on really loud deep scenes. I just pull it off on bass heavy movies.

I'm using two SB12-NSD to complement the Andrew Jones designed Pioneer Elite speakers. I'm still running tests with REW to figure out the best place for them given the room layout and 2 rows of seating.
