What a crazy tournament week. Nearly all the top ranked teams went down. In the SEC they went down hard and early.
Love the parity, though.
My method this year for filling out brackets will be coin flips, just for fun.

have now lost in the first round in two of the past three NCAA Tournaments, first in 2022 as a two seed to 15 seed St. Peter’s, followed by a second round loss to Kansas State in 2023 and then this year’s loss to Oakland.

The state has been buzzing about it again since yesterday’s loss. The only happy folks being those bitter Louisville Cardinals fans. My wife is more up on this than I am, being she’s a KY native with lots of family there. Half wear blue and half wear red. Makes for some interesting holidays

Calipari is in a tough spot, Every year there’s an almost entirely new team as his recruits leave for the NBA. I don’t know what an answer would be for that. Maybe this years team embarrassed themselves so badly the players will return next year?

The other issue might be Cal’s buyout number and if the school pays it, does it diminish their pay-for-play funds? I’m not sure , but thinking it might.

Rick Pitino, Former head coach of Kentucky for 8 years. The first two of which they were ineligible because of NCAA violations and the remaining 6 they dug deep into the NCAA championship, including a championship and a runner-up. From there he left to become the head coach of the arch in-state rival Louisville Cardinals, where he also won a National Championship (later vacated for NCAA violations, presumably unknown to Coach Pitino). Immediately he became and remained during his tenure with Louisville, the ”most hated man” of Big Blue Nation, who now seem to be in a spirit of forgiveness The thing that always struck me about his teams was how hard his teams played, especially on defense.
