Setup: Martin Logan sealed 10" subwoofer and Elac Debut Reference speakers setup in home office for near field listening.

Below are my results thus far, after testing multiple placement locations for the subwoofer. Downfiring from about 6' behind me proved to be the best spot. Below are my REW graphs, with no smoothing and with psychoacoustic smoothing. The subwoofer is adding nice extension down to 20Hz, maybe even13Hz.

Questions:

When my sub does this in my room, is there any reason to consider a bigger/better sub? I'm quite happy with the low bass resulting from my sub integration. Am I at the point of diminishing returns in terms of subwoofer integration?

Green - REW
White - REW but playing sweep through Roon with basic PEQ setting
Purple - REW with no subwoofer

* As for total room correction; this is just early testing. I am using "Home Audio Fidelity" services to create proper convolution filters based on this data.

You have about an 8 dB drop between 45 Hz and 20 Hz.

I would not like that.

Yeah, I guess I was looking at the fact I had some where I didn't before but 8dB is a lot. Perhaps I should consider my bass extending down to 30Hz where there's only a 3dB drop.

So perhaps worth auditioning a better (perhaps bigger 12") high quality subwoofer to get this down to 20Hz with no drop, and if fortunate enough... perhaps a nice house curve rise as it approaches 20Hz.

There are several target responses/"house curves"... Everyone likes something different... The Harmon & B&K are quite popular... And others like it flat... I prefer B cup my self... Every kit, every room and every ear/brain is different... Vive la difference...

And @Mitchco references several here... https://accuratesound.ca/standards.html...

Made some more adjustments... optimizing from 20Hz to 1000Hz.

1/12 smoothing on top graph, phsycho acoustic on the bottom. Looks better and early testing shows it sounds good as well.

These are simple PEQ settings on top of convolution filters I received from Home Audio Fidelity.
