Using a Denon 8500 with 7.1 layout

when I do the "check levels" test on say my front left speaker the check plays through all my other speakers?

If I run a sweep most of the sweep comes through the selected speaker, but can also be heard on all my other speakers?
any suggestions appreciated
Regards
Andy

Sounds like you may have a processing mode selected which is synthesising output on other channels. The mode needs to be some form of direct which doesn't apply processing.

Thanks John
I will need to check that out
If I remember correct the AVR is showing "Multichannel 7.1" on the display which I think is right?
AFAIK there is no other processing being done

Using long HDMI cables can sometimes cause problems with audio appearing on the wrong channels.
The HDMI is a 10 foot Amazon basic High speed with Ethernet
I wonder if the Ethernet part is causing the problem?

Just bumping to feedback that a suggestion was made that for windows 10 to delete the AVR driver and reinstall it
this seems to have fixed the issue
