I was able to see Denon as an output device last night but now its not available. I'm connected to a Denon 4300H with front auxiliary HDMI.

ASIO is installed but Java is selected. Denon was just available again after a restart and after another computer reboot it isn't. Is this an HDMI cable thing or something?

Or Windows isn't working with the Denon? Denon doesn't show up in Sound Control either. The laptop desktop does show up on the TV

With your AVR and UMIK connected:

Open Control Panels.

Click on Sound.

On the Playback tab, right-click in the blank, white area below all displayed devices.

Select 'Show Disabled Devices' and 'Show Disconnected Devices' from the pop-up menu.

Does the AVR appear in the device list as disabled or disconnected?

Unplug the HDMI cable.

Plug it back in.

Does the AVR appear in the device list as enabled?

I'm at work now. I asked in another forum too and he said HDMI doesn't work with Java. But I've seen Java work on YouTube channels so I tried it. Confusing to me but I'll try ASIO tonight.

On Windows the Java drivers only offer stereo, so you can only access the left and right channels of an HDMI connection (all channels are available on macOS or Linux though).

There is a new beta of ASIO4All that is Windows 10 specific and is indicated as solving some issues. Try the latest Beta when you download.

Still no Denon showing up. Tried disconnecting & reconnecting the HDMI cable. Laptop is connected to Aux1 on front of Denon

Some users have reported that the Aux 1 input on Denon AVRs can be a bit flaky. Try one of the inputs on the back and see if the laptop picks it up.

I see the Denon under Software devices in Device Manager

Oh thanks Sam. That may be it! I've seen the Denon appear in REW once. That may explain it. I'll try in a bit.

You were right! Aux 2 on back worked. Thanks
