Dirac Live Vs Audyssey manual calibration: which one is better?

Hi guys,
I own a Denon sinto. I'm panning to buy a new Marantz.

I normally calibrate my sinto hacking the ady file like explained in this tutorial ...

I have also a Dirac Live license.

My question is .... potentially a Dirac Live auto calibration may do better respect my Audyssey manual calibration using my UMIK1 and REW ??

I read that Dirca LIve also calibrate the phase problems of the speakers ... but I had no chanche to understand it better ....

IMO... if you have DLBC (Dirac Live Bass Control), it would be better if you have multiple subs unless Audyssey had come up with something that compares. Otherwise, I don't know if anyone has actually tested both recently, that is, since the most recent Audyssey updates that may have brought it closer to DL.

I like the idea that Dirac Live seems to constantly be updating their software and offering more potential benefits for the end-user, such as DLART, which is now available to any manufacturer desiring to implement it in their products.

I agree with Sonnie. The one thing that Dirac does that Audyssey doesn't, in my experience, is a broadening and sharpening of the soundstage. That said, Audyssey does a great job of calibration... and the new Audyssey Pro software gives you lots of tweaking abilities.

I've never tried to calibrate using the method laid out in that video link (interesting, tho!). I think Dirac Live and DLBC give you excellent automated results.

Still pretty green, only about a year into any of this stuff, but that's exactly what I found so far too. No idea how but Dirac makes the front sound stage about twice as big. Having said that with MultEQ-x, plus rew and some distance tweaking I much prefer Audyssey so far. Way, way better bass and I prefer the more focused front stage I get with it. Especially after the update to load our own eq filters.

Rew eq filters and the spatial audio toolkit made the biggest difference. They changed everything. I'm still trying to figure Dirac out. It gets the trims on my subs way wrong and I can't figure out why.

Having said all that, I'm still pretty green. So take that for what it's worth.

You can watch the Audyssey A.R.T. video with CC enabled and then it is easier to understand the presenter who has an accent. Having said that the information in the video is way over my head and not for everyone.

I followed the Audyssey A.R.T. video with two screens. ON one screen I followed the tutorial and on the second screen I performed the work shown on the tutorial.
It is a long laborious task, but the results are beautiful to my ears.
