Hello,
Firstly thank you for such an amazing application! It's a pleasure to use.
I've been looking in vain in the preferences or command line switches to start the application in SPL meter mode.
I'm an acoustician specialising in environmental noise for outdoor concerts. While I use dedicated Sound Level Meters for compliance purposes I've struggled to find a super simple SPL meter that the general public can use to monitor noise for themselves.
Often presented with folk waving a phone app around claiming its 105dB in their homes.
Be great to have a cross platform application that can be field calibrated & provides a simple running LAeq display.
I've got a stock of cheap windows tablets (Toshiba W8's) that when paired to a miniDSP would be a useful tool to hand out to concerned residents for reassurance (where a class 1 nuisance logger is probably unnecessary). I've also got iphones & iPad tablets with Digital Studio Six Audio Tools, but I'm looking for something that runs on generic hardware.
Many thanks
Gareth
