Wow. What a crazy CRAZY year 2020 has been.

This year, for me, has been strange on a number of levels. Starting off by recovering from my own, personal, health crisis (in fact, my last visit to John’s Hopkins Medical Center was the same day Maryland announced its first Covid lockdown), I lost my best buddy and loyal companion - Moose, and then COVID became a dominant weight.

I’ve tried to stay positive despite the difficulty of the year. And there’s lots to be thankful for - health in my family (so far!), I’ve managed to get myself into the best physical shape of my life,my oldest daughter signed a letter of intent to swim for an ACC school (and we were able to watch her first college race via stream), and Covid has given me, my wife, and kids a great opportunity to slow down and reconnect. Also, our new puppy - Manny - has been a much needed burst of love and energy.

I hope all of you - all of us! - experience a very happy, healthy, and prosperous 2021. I know the first few months are going to be a continuation of 2020. But there’s light at the end of the tunnel.

I, for one, can’t wait to go to the ballpark. Missed it badly this year.

Happy New Year, AV NIRVANA! If you feel like it, leave a few positive thoughts to help us go into the new year.

A year we will NEVER forget (unless we get Alzheimers)... while it has been sad in many ways... it has also been good in many ways. Hopefully we can all focus on the positive and leave the bad behind us.

Happy New Year!

What I missed most this year is meeting the guys from my sports club on the Badminton courts for 10 months now. Looking forward to the day when I leave the house with my rackets and stuff packed and turn the key to our hall to let everybody in for our first practice after lockdown. Might still have to wait for several months ...

Sadly I had to learn that COVID-19 is not the worst thing that can happen to somebody. Knowing this in theory is one thing, hearing that one of your best friends and one of the most loveable persons you can imagine suffers a brain tumor is a different story. Surgery went well, chemo and radiotherapy are in progress, with uncertain outcome. Hoping for the best ...

So: Happy New Year to all of you! In the end it will get better!

Yep 2020 was the oddest year of my life and probably many of our lives. I'd like to thank the folks that run this website and those that post here, because without you this would have been an even more boring year for me. Happy New Year and I wish you all the best in the coming year!

Ain’t that the truth. Life has a funny way of throwing some nasty curveballs when you least expect it. In fact, I almost lost my father to a freak accident this past Monday.

I hope your friend has a rapid recovery to full health!

All of us feel the same way about the members here. Great group of folks!

Happy new year to all and hopefully the new year will be lot more healthier and happy for all.
