Success Achieved!
Moved Mic position a few inches until L+R measurement showed no timing offset in the impulse graph
Checked that individual Left and Right measurements aligned well with measured L+R -- success!
Developed EQ filters based on L+R measurement
Reran Left, Right and L+R measurements after EQ filters were loaded.
All now seems consistent.
Somewhat amazing to learn the criticality of proper setup to achieve proper results

Edit: Yes the Mic position is at the main listening position +/- a couple of inches
