Let's start the discussion on LG's 2022 mini-LED TVs.

To get started check out our LG 2022 QNED90 and QNED99 4K and 8K MiniLED TV webpages along with the technical .pdf spec. sheets.

MiniLED is turning out to be very promising for the 2022 model year with new processors and the new 2022 MiniLED VA panels are very nicely upgraded for this new model year.

Robert, where do these fall, cost-wise, as compared to the OLEDs?

I don't have the final prices yet. When comparing only the 4K QNED90 to the C2 I expect the QNED90 to be lower priced.

I love the mini-led tech in this application. It really starts to strip away issues with LED LCD technology. I can only imagine this is going to allow for better blacks, less bleed. And quantum dot helps with color.

Seems like a win-win-win, especially for rooms with lots of bright light.

What kind of nits are we talking, here?

We'll be measuring the peak luminance and all of the other picture performance measurements the day we receive LG's QNED90 and QNED99 as well as Samsung's QN90B and Sony's X95K and Z9K. That's just for the upcoming 2022 4K and 8K MiniLED TVs, we'll be testing and reviewing all of the new WRGB and QD OLED TVs too!

Robert, does your shop sell any microLED panels?

Do you have any link for the LG 2022 QNED90 and QNED99 4K and 8K MiniLED TV webpages along with the technical .pdf spec. sheets., couldn't find any yet ...?

So in 2022 LG's QNED range will use VA panels instead of IPS as in 2021, all models!?
Assume that would play a significant part for the promised improvements in regard to black levels and contrast, along with the 'precision local dimming' (likely not just a better software algorithm but a more powerful next gen processor as well)?

I'm looking specifically at the 86" QNED90, amazon has it now up for pre-order at $3065 with a June 1st release date - if that holds true that would be quite a bit lower than it started out in 2021 (if I remember correctly at $3999) and not too far from its current sale price (~$2700) that already had me tempted - but now as more info comes out I'll probably wait for the new model year ...

Sorry to announce LG will not be launching the QNED90UQA or QNED99UQA MiniLED TVs for the 2022 model year.

Post any questions.

What’s going on? Supply chain?

I honestly don't know, but my guess is LG is putting more of their resources in their OLED products.

Interesting that the MiniLED tech is rolling out at this pace. A few years ago it was predicted that it would begin to saturate the market in 2023... perhaps COVID impacted that timeline, but it sure does appear to be going more slowly than expected.
