Logitech dropping support for the older Harmony remotes

And, apparently, as is typical these days, no effort whatsoever to open source the devices for others to support if desired.

Yet another reason that "cloud based" equates to "you don't own it".
 
Mine is still working at this point. I haven't read any reviews of other products that can be a direct replacement. Any suggestions for when this happens?
 
I've been using the Universal Remote Control remotes . . . They pretty much crush the Harmony line in terms of features and function, but are more work to configure.
 
I bought a replacement 650 or 670 (can't remember) in case my other ever died. It looks like if I want to transfer the existing profile over I'll still be OK? But it does stink that after support is finished that I'll never be able to make changes if I ever change out a component.

The Harmony 650 remotes will still be supported. Its their older models that they are stopping the support on.
 
@3dbinCanada Thanks. I looked at my replacement - it's a 665 so I'm good there also I guess.
