Magic = Audyssey One by OCA (Obsessive Compulsive Audiophile) + REW John Mulcahy's free and amazing Room EQ Wizard (REW)

Has anyone here tried the new version of Audyssey one Evo? tried it this morning, all was going well, but then it stopped about halfway, tried again another 4 times but nothing, still stops at the same point

I did a run. Currently happy with v1.3. It’s recommended to reload data from mdat file each time. In my case I needed to rerun audessey to get sub trims above -12 db.

Yes its is amazing, a definite upgrade from A1.3x
There's a few things you can try Gerry.
Try a fresh install of REW use the uninstall tool found in REW.
Download the new Beta 31 REW found here
And try version Evo 1.3 as that is now out.

If your computer will support it, and has the ram you can add this"-J -Xmx8192m" to the file name properties target so it would look like this :\REW\roomeqwizard.exe -J -Xmx8192m
This will allow REW to run using 8gb of memory.

You could also post your Mdat here and one of us could run the script for you and hand it off back to you

Can you please share your .ady file and I will try to in my PC.

This works perfectly for me in my PC. Atleast 20 to 25 runs tried till now.

Thank you very much I'll check it out later, :T :T :T
Ok, I've uploaded it to the receiver, I take it that they're the same? Loaded the first one, so far with just a quick listening from Some TV, it sounds a bit boomy, checked the levels, all ok, but it set my centre channel at 150hz, surrounds at 80 and rear surround at 60, they're not large speakers, my fronts are fine the same as I set them, 110hz, I'll listen for a few days and then we'll see, thank you very much for doing that for me, really appreciate it:T:T:T

You are welcome. It is optimised with OCA Target curve. But with this A1 Evo, we can use any target curve we like.

Edit: if you wish to explore any other target curve, please feel free to ask.

will other target curves make it sound much different??

There is something strange with your setup, the crossover results are not optimal and the excess phase seems to be high.
Do you have any pics of your room?
Possible to move some stuff around?

I will try and take some pics tomorrow,no much to move around, thank you for looking into it :T But what causes the exess phase? the fronts at 11ohz are fine, as that is the best I can get in my room according to REW, but 150hz at centre is not, and the same for the rears and surrounds

It's all the remaning "incorrectable" phase left after removing minimum phase (correctable) portion of an impulse response. The higher the incorrectable amount in your system, the worse it's set up. 0 excess phase system can be completely corrected to perfection. [1,0,0,0,0 ..] perfect speaker responses we keep putting in ady files have 0 excess phase. Speakers are by design (mostly) almost minimum phase, excess phase is added by the room. FYI most dips are non minimum phase and thus incorrectable, too.

In simpler terms, the lower the EP, the less room and more speaker you are listening to. - OCA

If you see crossover points of the speaker's graph in the shared REW post optimized .mdat file, you can see crossover points according to the A1 Evo log.

Thank you for your reply, all of that just went past above my head  I'm not very well conversed about phase and Excess Phase, sorry, but can this be corrected?? and how would I do that??

I have a feeling the only way to "correct" it would be to reposition everything, placement, re-run of Audyssey etc....but that's a total guess on my part.
Thank you for your reply, I'm not sure I could reposition everything, there's nothing to move:sneeky::sarcastic:
