This just showed up for sale! $300 for all 3. The amp is only 45 watts/channel. Is it worth buying compared to modern equipment?

Not sure if it’s worth it or not but AWESOME! Love that look!

I wouldn't mind having it if nothing else for display... very cool looking. Some of the older stuff has that look about it for sure.

I agree, it looks very cool. I think the only other vintage stuff that looks better is Macintosh! There would be no hesitation there. But that's a whole different level of performance (& cost).

Would I need all three pieces? The 2100 is a tuner & the 2220 is a receiver. Isn't that redundant or am I missing something?

If I'm not mistaken these pieces are from the 1970s and may need some maintenance by a tech... $300 for all three pieces is kind of a steal... The 2100 tuner and the 2220 receiver would be redundant unless the turner is dead in the 2220 receiver... Without some hands on or a checkout by a tech its a crap-shoot as to the functionality of any of these... All that being said, if all these are fully functional and within spec they are all worth 2 to 3 times the current $300 price...

Thanks dude, that's what I was thinking as well.

Somebody else snagged the deal ahead of me. Wasn't meant to be!

It wasn't me!

Although I would have loved to have them.

You shouldn't have been so slow.

I bet it was mech... :whistling:

It wasn't me!

I am happy with my current kit and am not a collector...

Sorry you missed it @Tonto... Better luck next time...

Was not I. And here’s some dancing bananas:

If mech is banana dancing ... he is happy about something. GUILTY!

Are there any HIFi golden ages or golden oldies - in the sense you would say "nobody TODAY makes a turntable better than Thorens 1986 with SME arm"? I am not nominating that system, just an example.

(Of course I don't mean "Nobody makes an 8-track player like...".)

For the moment, the only possibility I can think of is that Marantz tuner and analog tuners of that period before all became digital wave counter systems. But I am not at all sure since my Sony 1990 digital tuner - and others of that golden tuner age - is superb (if I can remember when I last flashed it on).

I got to quit looking on fb marketplace. A guy just listed his McIntosh MX-121 for $1,000. That bad boy is $6000 new! Man is it beautiful!!

Wow, another guy just listed his amp yesterday. A McIntosh MC-122 amp for $1250! Pristine
McIntosh MC-122 power amplifier great power mint amp

This listing is for a truly rare and great amp from McIntosh. The MC-122 2 channel power amplifier is incredible. Extremely loved by audiophiles, this amp sounds and looks amazing. Pristine amp, well taken care of.

New retail was $2500

ASKING PRICE = $1279 OBO or best offer

100% fully functional and sounds great

CONDITION = 9 of 10 (please see pictures)

Audiophile owned and loved, selling due to downsizing my entire collection of gear. I am selling a tremendous amount of my collection, so be sure to check out my other items.

I am willing to entertain a reasonable offer for any of my gear, and will give a discount with multiple items purchased.

Thanks for looking!

Below is a link to pictures and descriptions of all my gear for sale. I have uploaded everything to google drive to make it easy.

The MC-122 is not one of McIntosh's finer amps... No autoformers... Won't dig down to 2 ohms like so many others with autoformers will...

The MX121 is a reasonably nice Surround Sound Pre-Processor, if your looking for a 7.1 surround sound PrePro...

He has some nice gear. Love that McIntosh look...one day!
