My classical music order finally came in. I ordered in January from Presto knowing it was out of stock. The production is supposed to be stellar so that's why I waited. Its an 11 disc set.

Surely you must have the Aldo Nova LP in another format or two already? :) 🇨🇦
Sadly no. I was a college student so I had to be choosy of what I wanted to buy. I didn't notice how warped the album was to the point where it can't be played. I tossed it in recycle so it doesnt steel anyone else's money.

Bummer.

I just had to look up Aldo Nova. Was that a Canadian thing?

For some reason he wasn't on my radar at all in the 80s

What rock did you grow up under, Todd? I grew up in a town of 48 people in rural Iowa and we knew Aldo Nova.

Steel Panther even covered his biggest hit:

But he had the best video for it:

Uh.. neither of those!

What years are we talking about, here?

1982.

According to Wikipedia, it hit #23 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #3 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock charts. The album went to #8. He's co-written with Jon Bon Jovi, Celine Dion, Faith Hill and more. Has won Grammys.

Apparently the rock you lived under was not the Mainstream Rock. ;)

In 1982 I lived in the Far East... music back then, for me, was Michael Jackson, The Sugar Hill Gang, ABBA, the Thompson Twins, Queen, etc.

We were not listening to this Aldo Nova character... if he even existed!
