Curious of the various neutral sounding speakers available that have anechoic measurements available for them.

I want to acquire a pair for testing.

I'll start...

JBL M2
Volti Rival

First thing that comes to my mind is Revel and I see elsewhere you have a set coming. I am surprised that Greg Roberts (Volti Audio) has anechoic data. His speakers are a lot of fun, I always enjoy what I hear with their set ups.

Well I thought I had a pair coming, but the F228Be are on backorder until 7/31/21.

I may pick up a pair then if I don't decide to get the Salon 2's before then... or something else.

The Volti Rival reminds me of the Klipsch Forte IV or Cornwall IV fully race tuned... The Volti Vittora reminds me of the Klipsch La Scala... Horn loaded... Got to love them...

Are towers a requirement?

Not really, although I would prefer, in case I want to keep them. However, it needs to be something I can get heavily discounted, and those D&D 8c are a little more than I'd want to spend for a small speaker.

I love that look myself.

Before Electrostats folded horns or horn loadeds were my gotos... Crazy how efficient they are with 100+ sensitivity...

I wish we could get something from ML for anechoic measurements on the stats, but they ain't budging, which really makes me curious.

Is @Erin far from you? Maybe he’d be interested in filling the Martin Logan measurement void with his Klippel NFS.

Another +1 for Volti. Among my top favorites both times I’ve heard ‘em at FL Audio Expo.

He's not all that far... we've been meaning to get together at some point, but then COVID hit right we talked about it.

I'm not even sure if the Klippel will work very well on planar type speakers, but he would likely know. Also not sure if would be willing to haul it down here, or how easy it is to move. No way I could haul the 15A's... they are massive and super heavy. But if he could work it out, it would certainly be nice.

Yea, I'm not far from Sonnie. And I'd be game to test the ML's. But the NFS is not portable at all. In fact, it is bolted to the concrete floor of my garage. :D :o I don't look forward to moving, so I think I'll just live at my current residence the rest of my life. LOL

That said, I don't know if the NFS (as it is currently configured in my garage) would be able to reach the height of the MLs.

I'll say this... the JBL F226Be's are quite impressive speakers. I very much liked them.

I could probably swing getting my rear Electromotion ESL's up there. They are light and easy to move. However, not sure how much that would tell us.

After watching that spin-o-rama jig in action, I would be very afraid to put an ESL into its psycho-rama-drama... What could possibly go wrong...

So Revel has offered me the F328Be instead of the F228Be.

Above is the sound power of the F228BE (blue trace) and F328BE (red trace) taken in the Harman anechoic chamber.

According to ASR, they are not quite as good, but still very nice and high up the ladder of measured speakers, and very well reviewed everywhere.
