Output to stream or airplay for tuning zoned systems ?

Our equipment (receivers, audio matrix, zone amps, etc.) is all in an equipment room in our lower level. Is there a good way to get REW to successfully output to airplay or something other than a hard cable (USB/HDMI, etc.) output?

Got UNPNP / DLNA via wired or wireless LAN...

I'm not sure what UPNP or DLNA would do? I did discover that I could redirect the REW output to airplay in Apple Setup and it appears to be working. Now to learn REW :-)
