Our dog (Husky Lab cross) will come in the theater room and lay on the floor or just visit when we are in there playing music or just talking but as soon as we turn on the movies she acts scared and won't stay.
It's not the video from the projector but it seems to be the soround sound that has her all worked up. Anybody else have this issue?

Our inside cats are kinda like that. Just watching the plasma they will stay in the room but if I turn on the HT they leave. I know its not the volume and I think it is the sound coming from so many directions that runs them out.

Not a good idea to have dogs or cats in a theatre room..Both animals emit tiny wisps of hair or fur which are floating in the air and can get into your projector..That can cause anything from fluff on the lenses and mirrors to burnt out lamps!
If your projector has filters then it's not such a problem, but not all projectors have filters..

I'm not going to force her to joine us and that's fine if she stays out. Prof, that's a good point and I think I will heed that warning.

My dog moose loves hanging in our theater room. He's a portuguese water dog, so doesn't shed. Doesn't seem to matter how loud it gets... he loves it!

Our Bassett Hound sometimes sits in the middle of the room and watches tv. Sometimes he shakes his head and drool goes flying lol.
He's a lazy dog and lays around most of the time. He does leave the room and goes outside when I play the Audyssey test tones and returns when I'm finished. I'm sure those tones are harsh on his ears.
