Purpose of "Export -> Impulse Response as text"?

For what purpose would someone use the "Export -> Impulse Response as text" feature?

There's no option in REW to import a text IR, so I'm not sure how one would use the exported text IR. Is there an application that receives text IRs?

The text file could be loaded into a spreadsheet for manipulation or imported into other packages.
