setting up denon x4800h with pc for dirac live

Ok so i how do i setup for pc windows 10. Do i have to connect my nvdia gpu to denon x4800h via hdmi . I have umik-1. Also Do i have to download dirac live for windows only? Or i have to install dirac live processor for windows 64 bit as well? Do i have to change speaker crossver in avr myself or dirac will do it on its own? In windows 10 do i have to alter any sound settings? so that does not interfere

Are you simply wanting to get Dirac Live working in your Denon 4800? If so, all you need is Dirac Live for Windows. Then connect your UMIK-1 to the computer USB input. HDMI from your computer to the Denon and select that input to use Dirac.

If using Bass Control, it will give you recommended crossover settings after running Dirac.

Make sure there are no sound enhancements turned on in Windows sound settings.

yes sir i bought full bandwidth+bass control. When hdmi is connected to denon. Then do i have configure nvidia denon avr under sounds in windows to set it 5.1 or stereo and choose full range in windows sound settings? or does not matter? If i connect through hdmi dont i need both pc and denon on same wifi?

I don't think it will matter about the WiFi, as only your computer will be communicating with Dirac.

Yes... make sure your PC is set up for Atmos if possible, or at least 5.1/7.1.

i have dali opticon 2 mk2 fronts and svs pb 2000 pro. its basically 2.1 for now. So still choose 5.1 in windows?

This may be where the WiFi comes in... the computer communicating with the Denon. I forgot about this when I made my previous comment.

Dirac is definitely not "crap" by any stretch of the imagination. In most cases, it's user error of some sort.

I did not have to use hdmi cable. I used wifi both were on same wifi. Then i made sound level in middle of each speaker then tight focused measurememt was done . Then i ran bass control management as well. What did i do wrong? I dont get it

Dirac manual has this what to do? Turn on lpf in svs app and set to max 200 or keep off. Lfe for lpf is 120 default in avr

You should have your project saved, so open it up and try the export again. I have gotten this error in the past myself, but eventually it would work.

I may not be clearly understanding your question, but you need to click on the Bass Control tab after running measurements. Then set your target curve. I am assuming you did all this after you captured your first measurements?

select microphone (load mic cal file) >> set levels >> select arrangement >> measure >> select Bass Control tab >> set desired target curves for each group of speakers >> calculate >> export

I would suggest reading the Dirac Live instructions... they are very helpful.

there are 3 options o 1st is dirac live then bass management then bass control. Do i have to do anything in bass management option? Also should i set spkr crossover in avr to 80hz . If its full range selected it may play full range with lower frequency and may damage my speaker

Dirac sets delays in ms. You may be used to seeing distance settings in an AVR, although behind the scene in an AVR delays are set in time.
When using delays the farthest speaker will have 0 delay. Every other speaker will be delayed so the sound from it will arrive at the same time as the farthest.

With the above in mind, are you saying the delays set by Dirac are not correct?

You can set the crossover in your Denon, but once you use Bass Control and export your preset, it will overwrite whatever you had set in your Denon with the setting you choose in Bass Control. If Dirac recommends 70Hz, that should be fine. If you prefer 80Hz, you can slide it over to 80Hz, but I recommend leaving it as Dirac suggests. Dirac is going to replace all the speaker settings in the Denon with its own settings.

It's not using the Denon settings and it does not change them... it is using the Dirac settings. The Dirac settings takeover and replace the Denon settings, but the settings will be in a different location.

I'm not familiar with Dirac on the Denons, but with my processor, I can see the Dirac settings separate from the processor settings.

Thats what i am saying it was 70hz in bass control and i exported it. Why it is 80 in denon

Not a Denon user either and the lack of Denon documentation is quite surprising.
Anyway, as with @Sonnie Parker , my Dirac experiences say it shouldn’t be 80 in the Denon if the Bass Control filter was exported with a 70Hz XO.
With Bass Control the XO is included in the filters themselves and the Denon would be unaware of what it actually is and shouldn’t show any XO or at the very least should not allow an XO to be active or changeable when using Bass Control filters. (with regular Dirac the Denon XOs are used). So, if the XOs can be changed with a Dirac Bass control filter, then I would suggest the Bass Control filter is not actually active in the Denon for some reason. If you can see an XO, but you can’t change it then I will suggest it’s meaningless, although confusing.

Also, Bass Control does not calculate the best crossover for you. See Where/what should the crossover settings be when using Bass Control? AND read the link contained there in.
