REW Beta Release Spectrogram displays the wrong area

For some reason the spectrogram is not displaying the energy peak at the correct time and is showing activity waaaaay past the region of interest.

You haven't said what spectrogram settings you were using, what you believe the correct peak energy time should be or what you consider the correct 'region of interest' for the peak energy trace and why. The peak energy trace isn't shown in your screen shot.
 
What I meant was the timing of the spectrogram is wrong, it has a time offset. Either that or the peak is not even on the spectrogram. Plus there is a huge chunk missing out of the middle.

For audio data imports the spectrogram is generated for the entire span of the data using the middle as the reference point. If your data has a peak you are better importing it as an impulse response, which gives controls for the pre and post peak span to be analysed. That data also needs normalisation (or a log rather than linear amplitude axis) because the peak level occurs at around 10 Hz.
