SPL meter; LZpeak question

Hi, very curious how the peak meter works.


Does it use a 35ms Time weighting like in the Impulse mode that I've seen in ARTA and this explanatory snip from NTI?
Or does it use a different method?

I guess my real question is how short of a duration, does the peak meter capture accurately?
At the extreme, If I ping a single Dirac pulse through my speaker, how accurate will the peak meter capture be?

The peak reading is based on the largest absolute sample value seen in each block of audio data. There is no time weighting.
