Struggling REW/UMIK-1 Newbie Needs Your Seasoned Advice

I've dedicated about 10 solid hour over the last two days and each time I attempt to measure various listening positions, I get the message that "The soundcard didn't provide any input data..."

Here is my set up

UMIK-1 going into MB pro

From MacBook pro I have HDMI going to an assigned HDMI input on my Rotel RAP1580 (only using audio)

I downloaded the xxx-xxxx_90deg.txt for the mic.
I can't get to where i can run tests in the MIC/Meter mode.

I followed the instructions on the preferences page, BUT, when I select the MIC/Meter tab, I can go no further.

But wait! There's more! I could only see two speakers in my 7.1 setup. I could not see or find the HDMI in the audio in pull down.

Finally, would using a miniDSP 2x4 HD help or should this unit be reserved for the subwoofer?? Would it be any easier or might it just be newbie user error? Thanks.

What macOS version are you running? If it is 10.14 you need to use the latest V5.20 beta version from here.
The HDMI output needs to be set up for multichannel in Audio Midi Setup, as shown in the help.
