Subwoofer Recommendations

I've 2 different subs, 1 is an Arendal Sub1, and the other is a Ken Kreisel DXD808, I think this is about 10 years old, time to change??

That is a long time these days, but those are also good subs. I assume the Sub1 is newer... have you considered adding another Sub1?

I was going to suggest the same thing. Though, I guess the first question is: how's the bass currently sound in your room?

Yes, sub1 is newer, but been thinking about SVS subs for a while, but here, even the small SB1000 pro costs around 800 dollars

It's not great, in 2 weeks time, I'm having the ceiling lowered by about 8 inches, using acoustic plasterboard, the ones with small holes in it, and rock wool above it, at the moment there's is a concrete ceiling, and solid walls

Sounds like a concrete vault. Is it a basement and do you have free reign of placement?

The Marantz 50 has Dirac right?

Yes it's a basement, I've 3 corners that I can use, the fourth there's a door, the marantz has Dirac, but using Audyssey with miniDSP 2x4hd, I've plenty of acoustic panels that I've made myself, and bass traps, but not sure how good they're, once the work had been done I'll start from scratch and see how it goes
