Syncing Java and 64 bit REW

Hi
I am a novice. I've used the 32 bit version of REW before but this time I want to use the 64 bit. But it doesn't match up or sync up with my Java. Any suggestions?

You'll need to download/install a separate 64bit version of JAVA ( to use the 64bit REW version ) .

The installer dialog that warns you of no suitable Java runtime has a button on it to download one for you.

This is the version of Java I am using: JavaSetup8u251. I thought it was 64 bit but maybe it isn't?

You need both 32bit + 64bit JAVA runtimes ( if you are going to use both 32 + 64bit versions of REW )..

Follow the yellow brick road ( once you locate the Control Panel ) to see just what types of JAVA you have on your computer.

Ok. I'm making progress. You guys are helping me a lot. Thanks a lot! So it looks to me like EarlK has the 32 bit version and the 64 bit version of Java installed. Is that correct? I was successful in installing 64 bit Java. Should I uninstall my REW 5.19 (32 bit) version before I install the latest 64 bit version or can they both be installed together?

Both can be installed, but they share a common preference store and some of the V5.20 preferences aren't compatible with 5.19 (mainly the new Y axis choices) and will prevent it starting if they are set to something 5.19 does not offer.
