(September 1, 2023) AV NIRVANA members and audio fans, it's time to mark your calendars! The Florida International Audio Expo recently announced dates for its fifth show, set to take place Friday through Sunday, February 16–18, 2024, at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Tampa Airport Westshore Hotel. Both tickets and hotel reservations are now available, so if you want to guarantee an onsite room, now is the time to lock it down!

The show will have more than 12 floors of audio systems from the industry’s most coveted brands, spanning everything from electronics to loudspeakers and turntables to headphones. In addition, the halls will be crawling with industry influencers, icons, and product designers, making this an event that's sure to be memorable. The experience is capped by the facility, which was originally built to house condominiums. Now that it's been converted, each room enjoys the benefits of acoustic isolation, which conveys a feeling of comfort and luxury to attendees and exhibitors alike.

Bart Andeer, Managing Partner says: “We’re excited to be returning for our fifth year with almost all of our exhibit rooms already sold out. It’s a testament to the atmosphere we’ve created here that so many of our 2023 exhibitors are returning, and we’re also welcoming some established brands for the first time. Attendees will have the opportunity to see a wide variety of products on display, making it easier to find the best option for their music-reproduction needs. We welcome everyone to the Sunshine State to celebrate our passion for music—it’s the reason we created this show!”

Tickets are on sale now: Single-day admission, $25; admission for all three days, $35; free admission for students, children, and spouses. By booking a room at the Embassy Suites now, you'll guarantee yourself access to a free airport shuttle (the hotel is minutes from the airport), a complimentary breakfast, and happy hour! For more information, visit the show's website, here!

I thought of you when this PR landed in my inbox…!

Several on the growing list of exhibitors I’d want to see. Among them is Mofi who’s sourcepoint 8 were just measured and glowingly reviewed by Erin.

Dan Clark Audio will be there again. I expect with the new E30 headphones. Not that I can afford them, but they measured great and are 1/2 the price of the DCA Stealth.

Perlisten will be returning along with many others. I also saw Canton on the list and don’t recall seeing them before. Heard good things said about the brand. KEF has a bunch of excellent offerings.

@AJ Soundfield can you reveal your plans for the Expo?

Not certain I'll make it this year... thinking about CES and Axpona and MWAVE.

Sorry to hear that, hope you can if possible.

I'm going to try to lure Sonnie with a horn loaded planar phased array with force cancelling cardioid sub speaker, but he's tired of hearing such boring, mundane same as every room type systems.
Hope you had a great holiday, a pre Happy New Year to all.

lol... Well, after discussing it with Todd, I am definitely not going to CES... that's too much of a racket to fool with for me, so it's not out of the question to fly down to Tampa (too lazy to drive this time).

Happy New Year!

I just noticed Erin’s Audio Corner is a show sponsor. Nice @Erin . Assuming that means you’ll be there again this year? I was just thinking how cool it might be to work a Klippel into the show someday. Maybe with a talk on spin measurements. Oh well, enough daydreaming for me, Back to the football Bowl games.

I saw these folks on the exhibitor list:

Their products are out of my spending comfort zone, but that won’t stop me from checking them out. I’ve never read a negative comment about BACCH’s efficacy.

I see Dutch & Dutch on the exhibitor list too!

SVS fans, this might be a good opportunity to see their latest:

@Todd Anderson , any chance you could find out if the new Evolution line will be there?

What is it... hocus pocus stuff?

What is it... hocus pocus stuff?
That’s what I’d like to hear for myself :)

In the case of the Dutch and Dutch 8C it looks like crosstalk cancellation filters.

I‘m not fully understanding of their products, but IIRC they offer hardware and software for ”3D” audio from 2 channel with headphones and optional (?) head tracking. I think I also read about or saw a video where they can recreate speakers in rooms with filters. I’m hoping there’s an opportunity to learn more at the expo.

What is it... hocus pocus stuff?
No more than stereo and phantoms. Interaural crosstalk cancellation, Carver Sonic Holography, Polk SDA, etc. The digital version, a lot more advanced.
We'll see right?

I bet someone is in that room twinkling their nose. :whistling:

Will you have two rooms this year?

Will you have two rooms this year?
I will have Soundfield speakers in my room 415, Orchard Audio 406 and the Suncoast Audiophile Society Hospitality Suite 613.
Which is why it took a week to answer ;-)

Excuses Excuses... :rolleyesno:

I'll be watching for your thoughts on it.

Can't make it this year Sonnie??

I wish I could, but I have too much going on around the house that causes me to need to be here.

Understood, maybe next year...
