The Official 2017 MLB Thread

Good game. Astros won 5 to 3. Now, they take a 2-1 lead in the series.

I’ve gotta feeling this is going to go 7 games. That was a good one last night! Dodgers are almost in a must win situation in game 4!

I suspect you are right Todd.

Dodgers won today to tie the series 2 games to 2 games.

Final score of 6-2 today.

Wow, what a game. Had everything.

Astros won last night. 13 to 12.

Wow.. what a game.

Houston leads the series now 3 to 2 games.

Houston... on the edge of greatness! Should be quite the game 6!

It is all about survival for the Dodgers so I suspect this game will be very tough for the Astros and it is in LA but let's see how it goes.. :)

As I suspected, the Dodgers won last night. It was survival game for them and they had to win to stay in it.

The Astros lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers, 3-1.

Now, on ward to winner-take-all Game 7 of the World Series on tonight at Dodger Stadium.

This one will also be a hard game to win.

What happened? Who won? Congrats to the Astros on winning their first ever World Series! It was a monumental series by two incredibly talented teams.

Astros are the 2017 World Series Champions!

Way to go Astros!

Guess Sports Illustrated magazine cover in 2014 was very accurate.

Go Astros! Absolutely amazing win after a knock-down drag-out World Series. That was one of the best WS, competitively, in recent memory. Too bad one of those two teams had to lose.

Dodgers had plenty of chances to get back in that game... just couldn't get some key hits!

I agree. It was a great series. Both teams did very well. One for the records that is for sure.

Sad news in baseball.

from espn,,

"Roy Halladay, a two-time Cy Young Award-winning pitcher who retired from baseball nearly four years ago, died when his plane crashed into the Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday. He was 40."

Good news.

Astros' Jose Altuve named American League MVP

It looks like Stanton is going to the Yankees. Things just got a lot tougher for the AL.

And...hot and heavy rumors that the Orioles are about to have a fire sale... looks like Manny Machado is likely going to be traded.

:(

Yeah, that’s gonna sting seeing that kind of talent leave. On the bright side he should bring a kings ransom of prospects. Danny Duffy is reportedly being sought by your O’s which makes me sad inside. It’s looking like Salvador Perez might be the only remaining player from our World Series core.

It's a circus here, Jeff. The O's elderly owner is demanding that Machdo not end up as a Yankee. He won't deal with the Yankees - hates them. And he's paranoid that a trade partner will turn around and trade Machado to the Yankees.

He's also nixing any chance of a 72-hour contract negotiation window with Machado.

So, while you'd think he'd bring the mother load, it sounds like teams are turning their backs and saying "No Thanks."

I've heard a rumor that Moustakas could be a replacement... wonder how true that is? Probably highly unlikely.

OUR TEAMS ARE A WRECK AT THE MOMENT!

Yes, we’re certainly going through a transition period or rebuild or whatever you want to call it. All I know is we’re most likely going to lose for at least a few years. As far as Moose goes things have been eerily quiet but I believe his preference is to go to a West coast team because he’s from California.

Doesn't look like Duffy is coming here, Jeff.

O's are really tripping on their shoelaces at the moment!

Yeah, not really sure what’s going on behind the scenes? It’s very quiet here. I do know Duffy wants to stay and has expressed so on Twitter.

I think this Machado shopping experience is holding up a lot of action.

I'd like to see the O's make a move for Lorenzo Cain...they could slot him in left and center (when Jones needs a rest). His speed and OBP would be big.

Just make sure you sign him to a 50mil+ contract. :praying:

Well... O's star closer Zach Britton has torn his ACL and is lost for 6 months. He has one year left on his contract... due to be paid $12.2 million this year, and the O's have been shopping him as trade bait.

Seriously, when it rains it pours. His injury last year killed them... looks like his latest injury is going to kill them again!

Astros were at the White House today.

Go Astros!

Let's repeat. :)
