The system is great and I am really enjoying it at the moment. However I do find myself asking whats next?

I want to try Dirac Live and was planning on buying a 5 channel Emotiva XPA-5 Gen3 and add the minidsp DDRC-88A for processing. Then I figured it might be easier to just find a pre that had D.L. built into it.

Then I started to wonder if the price of all my equipment exceeds the price of the speakers, should I upgrade speakers next.

95% of the use is for Movies. 40 % Blu-ray and the rest streaming services.

I am looking for advice on the next logical upgrade path to take. This year the upgrade was room treatment and acoustic panels. Next year is still up in the air, as well as subsequent years.

I know I have one reflection from the ceiling remaining, I can see it with REW. I assume that DIRAC might be able to handle it better.

The next thing is that HDR 10 looks cool too. My plasma is 7 years old.

I feel like my system is out of balance with the electronics exceeding the value of the speakers, isn't the rule of thumb to spend more on speakers than electronics.

This are the three reasons.

Emotiva XMC-2 would be a great choice to incorporate Dirac and future-proof for when you can do UHD/HDR. I just traded my XMC-1 for XMC-2 and I'm installing it today. Original Dirac with the XMC-1 made a huge difference with the combination of frequency (amplitude) and impulse response correction. Dirac 2.0 should be available in about a month. Reconditioned XMC-1's with original Dirac can be had for about $1200.

As for balance of budget, here's my "two decibels" :-) ... yes of course, speakers first. Then don't overlook room treatment for what speakers and electronics don't do well. Then DSP to do what room treatment can't do.

best bang for the buck - get a bigger OLED TV !!! I believe that yours is a 50", go to at least a 65"
