from yahoo,

According to Jeff Sneider’s The InSneider, Warner Bros. may be looking to rid themselves of Looney Tunes entirely.

Sneider said, “I’m told that part of the reason WB decided to sell Coyote vs. Acme to Ketchup rather than take a tax credit a month before Tax Day (April 15) is because the studio is trying to sell off the Looney Tunes altogether.”

There’s been no official comment on the matter from Warner Bros. at this time; however, it is worth noting that the original Looney Tunes animated shorts, which ran from 1930 through 1969, were recently taken off Max. Deadline reported that the show is “no longer viewed as a priority” as “the streamer will prioritize adult and family programming.”

The audience for those characters must be essentially nil. Crazy to think

I still like waching the old classic cartoons. Maybe today's generation don't care since they have so many animated tv/movies/series to watch..

Just the thought of those cartoons bring back a lot of good memories for me.

It's tough to recognize a changing of the guard... but I bet if you asked a 20-something about Looney Tunes, they might recognize a few characters, but they wouldn't have the same attachment that any of us old timers might have!

yes, most will know the main characters but no idea on the rest.

Saturday mornings were awesome! Even in black and white!
I’m getting up there… but black and white? That’s about 10 years my younger!

There was something special about Saturday morning cartoons tho. It really kept the mystery alive. For me, it was getting a chance to see the Super Friends and itching to find out which ones would be featured. If the green latern made an appearance, I was on cloud nine!

Black and white with rabbit ears and adjusting the knob to try to keep the screen from rolling.

Those days of adjusting rabbit ears and knobs seems so long ago.

Were spoiled rotten these days

I've seen them all... my favorites were probably Foghorn Leghorn and Road Runner.

For me, one of the positives of watching the old cartoons was the orchestra music. I don't know if that started my love of music, but it certainly exposed me to a genre I might not have ever listened to (it's not the main thing I listen to, but it is in the mix).

A few years ago, I stumbled upon the 99 Must-Have Cartoon Classics album that contained songs from Looney Tunes and other cartoons, so of course I had to purchase it. Here's a sampling of songs from the album.

Thanks, I never really considered it but now that I think about it, that is definately one of the hidden gems of watching the old cartoons.
