Are any of you Jack White fans? I've hadn't played this album in years and didnt remember how hard some of his lyrics could hit.

I don't know Railroad Earth? What genre are they? Love the Allman Brothers.

Well, I had to look because I didn’t want to assume based on this Warren Haynes album.

Railroad Earth is the backing band on this album. The music is almost all Warren’s.
Warren Haynes was a member of the Allman Brothers for most of the 90s and I think of him as Southern Blues Rock for his solo stuff that I’ve listened to.

He may be better known for his work with Gov‘t Mule.

I would put Gov‘t Mule’s music and playing in the blues-rock genre.

Thanks for the information "J" !!! I know Gov't Mule kinda as I have one of their CDs.

Good afternoon "J", Todd, ddude003, NBPK402, and anyone else I missed !! Dam winter is relentless. Snow was heavy and I had to use the snowblower. Drive is getting filled again but this is the lighter stuff without the ice pellets in it so going hand shovel that. I got a loaf of homemade bread in the maker and two loaves of carrot cake in the oven.

I play the final disc tonighy out Haydn's symphonic collection, number 33 . I started in November.
:)

The soundtrack from my favorite western movie, which had an Oscar nomination in 1960. Elmer Bernstein: Magnificent Seven - Complete Film Score

Only 2 more Haydn symphonies to go. What's next? :)
I always liked Haydn but never owned his complete Symphonic works, all 104 of them. Im starting to chew through Mahler's 10 symphonies but Im having a difficult time with his compositions. They sound more lime movie soundtracks with random pieces being played here and there in his symphonies. I cant find a theme in his works but that doesnt mean there isnt any. I just have a difficult time identifying it.

The last two day's listening sessions;

I spent 5 hours transferring Haydn's complete symphonies 1 thru 104 on 33 CDs to a hard drive used by the Emby application.

I'm a huge fan of John Mellencamp. I put him right up there with Mark Knopffler in terms of lyrics and story telling.

Great day of music listening yesterday. The day started with some first rate headphone listening which is in this thread…

Alas, the mountain of pin oak leaves were waiting in the yard, but got to listen to some more great tunes with iPods. Lucky me.

Listened to this complete album. Really liked how the end of this tune transitions to Kashmir with a guitar jam.

Better versions no doubt, but this fits perfectly with the 3 before.

Have a great week everyone!

There‘s a few I liked, but I’m not familiar with her catalog enough to really say how it compares. I do like I Can’t Lose more on the whole, but if I had to pay for the LP just to hear that one tune I posted, I would.
