Awesome choices "J"!!!
Thank you! The listening session wound up flowing to an order for thisAwesome choices "J"!!!
Thank you. I have turned around and said the same thing to many others in dedicated music listening threads in other forums and I pale in comparison to them.@3dbinCanada , as I once again find myself listening to snippets from your posts and bookmarking to come back for some quality time with the music, I’m amazed at the size and breadth of your collection. Well done.
Yes, and I can tell a difference in the sound with the Athena volume at 38 vs 60 and the Leedh volume matched. I am doing this because the Atehena does not have HT bypass and this was recommended by Alvin @ Vinshine to prevent having a blast when switching from sources on the Marantz to source on the Athena. You have it too, right?@NBPK402,
Hmm... You are more or less bypassing the 60 Steps Microprocessor Controlled Relay Based Stepped Attenuator in favor of the Leedh Processing?
We all have our various paths to AV NIRVANA... And if this works out as the best path for you then that's great... With my kit and signal path, full blast via the U1 mini, Chord Quest DAC and into my Preamp sounds best for me in my room and my brain with my 2.1 system... I have HT bypass and do not use it... I run L and R pre outs from my AVR, with some attenuation, directly into my Preamp and the rest of the channels, center and surrounds, are powered by the AVR... Horses for courses... And yea, I don't use Tidal... Qobuz for me... And please, no DSD... Its all about the small signals...Yes, and I can tell a difference in the sound with the Athena volume at 38 vs 60 and the Leedh volume matched. Here is a link to Roon where they talk about it...Another link here.
Down the road... I will more than likely sell the Marantz (when we move to Europe and it would require a transformer and be worth nothing in europe due to the voltage requiring an external transformer), and most likely get a thousand dollar avr, and maybe replace the Athena some day with a preamp with HT bypass. For now I think the way I have it is best for my situation. We all have our various paths to AV NIRVANA... And if this works out as the best path for you then that's great...
