What is your ride, show it off

This was my dream ride before I bought my truck. I caught a 2017 Raptor in the parking lot of my local Hy-Vee and had to take a pic. Not my choice of color but beautiful nonetheless. I just couldn't justify the $70,000 plus cost.

I have a Lexus LX470 SUV 2006 model.

It is a great SUV. It seats 8 very comfortably and with the DVD player on the second row, the rear passengers are always entertained.

My only complaint is not enough luggage space when all the seats are taken.

My truck was recently broken into. It seems whoever did it didn't feel anything was worth stealing. It's a sickening feeling.

Oh man, sorry to see what happened to your vehicle. I wonder sometimes why people do this. Just get a job and with that earned money get what you want instead of stealing from others.

That sucks JBRAX. Sorry to hear that. I remember the time I came out of my apartment at the time to go to work.....and my gut dropped....my Honda was stolen. Good thing about it, I bought it used for 10 thou.....and when it was stolen it had 120,000 miles on it and the insurance paid out $10 thou. I am pretty sure it does not work out that way most the time.

Thanks, luckily I still have my truck somewhat intact. They didn't bust out the steering column and steal it. It did cost me $500 in deductible but that's really a small price to pay in the grand scheme of things. I'll be investing a bit more in the security system to deter further issues. There's some incredible tech out there!

You didn't have an alarm already that came with the vehicle? Or it was not working?

I'm not sure what happened with the alarm? Yes it has both perimeter and inside motion sensing but I didn't hear it go off.

It might have been malfunctioning.. Worth having it looked at.

I remember after my Honda was stolen and I bought a new car (mustang) I went full out for theft prevention. I had low jack installed, used a wheel lock and brake lock, and always garaged it while parked at home. It was like a ten minute lock down process :dumbcrazy:

I never used anything beyond the manufacturer installed security system.. Although, I have heard people use "kill switches" to stop a vehicle if it was stolen..I believe it is onstar but I am not 100% familiar since I don't have onstar.

2005 BMW X5 4.8is. Imolarot II. So much fun to drive.

2008 BMW X5 3.5si. Not as much fun to drive, but it gets better gas mileage, does better in the snow, and is cheaper to maintain.

I love the look of BMWs but they sure cost a fortune to maintain once the warranty is up.

Not necessarily. The V8s do, absolutely, which is why I also have the i6. But they really don't need any out of the ordinary repairs that other vehicles don't. I have a garage that allows me to source my own parts and they will do the labor, so that really helps.

Plus, the online resources (message boards) are so much more active with DIY BMW owners that I can generally diagnose anything myself just by searching or asking, and half the time I can do things myself, which I've never done before.

And, because I never buy a new vehicle, I've found that for the most part, people who own BMWs take better care of them than, say, Jeep owners (which is what I owned before BMWs). Jeep owners think they can do anything. So being the second owner has fewer surprises in a BMW than a Jeep.

That being said, I'm looking at an Audi Q5 this weekend to replace the i6.

Very nice BMW’s!

My 2006 BMW X5 was totaled in an accident a few weeks ago. Just picked up this 2013 BMW X5 with 32k miles on it to replace it. All the new stuff, getting used to it....push button start, heads up display, built in navigation etc..

Sorry to hear about the totaled car. Hopefully, only the car was damaged.

Congrats on the new BMW.. New cars now have all the bells and whistles with the latest technology.. Lots to enjoy that is for sure.

Nice ride! Push button start is a nice feature to have. Never have to take a key out to unlock, lock, or drive the vehicle.

Very nice Range Rover.. Congrats.

Not gonna lie, it's like driving a suite at the Ritz Carlton. And I've never had anything that handles so well in the snow.

Nice buy! Hope you're a-ok...

Mine has been totally ridiculous. Bought it for $11k, have put $6k of repairs in it and still needs another $4k. I am DONE. Looking to trade it in or just sell at a loss. I want it GONE.
