What movie did you bring home today?

Did you like The Banshees of Inisherin?
I enjoyed it, though I'm glad we didn't purchase it. We rented via Kaleidescape and enjoyed it, but would likely not watch again.

I picked this one up yesterday and we were able to fit it in last night. I had been excited for it and planned to see in the theaters until the initial reviews came out. Very polarizing. I'm actually more in the middle.
  • In terms of my initial excitement, I was disappointed.
  • In terms of the hate that it's receiving, I don't get it.
  • In terms of the movie itself, it was entertaining, and I enjoyed it. Parts were great, parts were a mess. It's not among my top 10.
  • In terms of the Oscar nom, I'm not sure they had seen it before putting it up for Best Picture.
A mixed bag, but worth a watch or two for sure. The HDR made me wish I had tone-mapping in my projector (soon). The sound isn't going to blow your subs, but there are always things happening all around you, and the directional mix is tremendous.

I received this from Amazon yesterday and watched the BluRaY version of it.

Stargate, Hellboy2, and Sahara are replacing my DVD copies. The DVD copies will become part of my movie collection for the trailer/cottage.

I have preordered the Abyss,

Good time to preorder… price drop!

All great movies, I read the Sahara novel and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have yet to get it on DVD.
I didn't read the book so I have no idea how far off the movie is from the book. I did however thoroughly enjoy how the two main male characters played off against each other. It was a good laugh.

That’s quite the haul! I’ve never watched the Hellboy series… I’m guessing you’re a fan!
Good effects and bad jokes. What's not to like?? :P

All the Clive Cussler series about Dirk Pitt are great. Just don't read/watch them all at once. I will have to get my hands on the movie!
Some of his other works are on IMDB.

I just brought home a copy of Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. It's been ages since I've watched it... wondering how it will hold up?

I have never seen this movie, but picked it up for $18.00, going to watch this Friday night.

What can I say? I'm a visual eye candy junkie and love bass powerful enough to make me run to the bathroom.

:P

I saw that last year, I thought it held up pretty well, it's definitely a product of its time
