There are many speakers out there I've never heard. Companies with offerings I could probably never afford and would only be detrimental to my enjoyment of our hobby. Of the speaker manufacturers out there you could afford but haven't heard what would be your first choice? I've never heard GoldenEar Technologies but have always wanted to.

I second Salk Sound, probably very good speakers for a reasonable price. I'd also like to hear a few others just to see it there is any merit or reason for the price.
B&W Nautilus
Wilson Audio Alexandria/Grand SLAMM
JM Labs - Focal Grand Utopia
Wilson Audio WATT Puppy

Keep in mind one key point in the thread is that you could afford. While that's very subjective I'm not talking about liquidating all of your assets to do so. A speaker you can afford without interrupting your normal day to day lifestyle.

Sorry, I missed the affordable part.
Salk Sound Veracity HT3
Ascend Acoustics CMT 340 SE and Sierra 2
Klipsch RP-160M and RP-280F

I happen to be a fan of concentric drivers so the type of speakers I would want to hear are things like the NSMT Model 30, Tannoy Revolution XT8F and Tekton Lore (which is similar in concept). I'm also intrigued by BMR drivers, so the Cambridge Audio Aeromax 6 would be on my list as well.

There aren't many that I could afford that I have not heard... although some of them I would love to hear in my room some time... not at a show where they are so poorly setup. HOWEVER... there are several I would love to hear that I can't afford.

B&W 804 D3
Klipsch PF37 or PF38

I would love the hear the Klipsch reference line. LaScala's and the legendary Klipsch Horns! Never seen them "in stock" to be able to demo them. They should be great speakers.

Craigsub has a set of the LaScalas. Maybe he would let you get a crack as them.

I'd like to hear some Palladium's as well. I'm curious how they compare to LaScalas. They are purdy looking for sure!

LaScalas are sweet sounding speakers. Not the best looking speakers though IMO. You're more than welcome to give my rf-7 II's a demo if you're ever in KC.

I have heard really good things about the RF-7's... and know one fellow that would never replace his until he ended up with a pair of ML Summits... 3-4 times the price.

I've never heard Def Tech (of any kind) in a good setting... I'd like to give those a roll.

I'm very pleased with them. They are the best speakers I've owned. The 82's they replaced were good for movies but I found them a little bright with some music. The 7's do both with ease.

I'll throw another out. I know they have a reputation but I can't find many reviews on them which intrigues me.
JTR 228hts

Here's a cool video on some JTR's.

Well it looks like they can get loud :)

I don't think it's the best video audio wise but what it shows to me is how dynamic and clear JTR is. From that distance not many speakers can do that. I have heard JTR's in person and it's the only speaker that would replace my current setup.

Oh I could definitely hear how articulate they were. They had that sparkle factor.
Definitely a speaker on my bucket list that I would like to hear.

Sparkle factor…good description! :T

I'd love to hear the KEF MUON.

I just recently started to really look into JTR speakers after seeing a article about the Noesis 215RT setup blowing away the competition at an audio show. What intrigues me most is the "ultra highend coaxial compression driver". I just want to know what that sounds like.

It sounds precise, as do all the other JTR loudspeakers I've heard.

The Chane L7 series...When ever they come out.

Specifically a bookshelf/stand mount person here. I would love to hear these:

1. Ascend Acoustics Sierra2's w/RAAL tweeter
2. Philharmonitors and BMR's-both w/RAAL tweeter
3. B&W 805 D3's
4. KEF LS50's/R100's/R300's
5. Q Acoustics Concept 20's

Cheers,

Phil
