What's your favorite Val Kilmer film?

Did I hear that Heat 2 is in production with Austin Butler playing a younger version of Val Kilmer?
I've not heard that... but, awesome if true!

I'm going against it here and picking The Doors.

Also, Wonderland is criminally under-appreciated.

The Rewatchables latest episode was on The Saint, which they say is way underrated.

I've not watched it... but I'm going to have to now!

I never was a Doors fan, but I like some of their music. I may have to watch this one...
He literally became Morrison. Perfect in the role, plus the supporting cast is phenomenal - Meg Ryan, Kyle McLachlan, Kevin Dillon, Frank Whaley, Michael Wincott. Even brought in Billy Idol and John Densmore.

Did Val actually do the singing?

From what I understand, he sang all the performances live, yes. But in post-production they split. Wide shots were the original Jim Morrison vocal, closeups were Val's vocal. Which is even more impressive, if you ask me, that they could seamlessly cut between the two without it being obvious. I would've never guessed they were both being used in the performance scenes had I not read that in an interview with Oliver Stone years ago.

Yeah... that is rather impressive. I never know Val could sing, but he must have been pretty good.

And now we find out Jim Morrison is still alive and living in upstate NY?

I think a Doors 2 is in order!
